As of now I see multiple listings for 17-18 Focus SEs with the 1.0L/6spd with 25k-ish miles for $10-12K (even at Carmax!). A local Ford dealer even had a new 2018 listed for $14K a few months ago. Appreciate everyone's insight! See more. Reply Quote.
The 1.0 is all Ford’s own work and has a poor reputation for longevity, later cars are supposedly better but there’s still too many cases of problems flagging up. The 1.5/1.6 is basically the old belt driven Yamaha designed Zetec Se with a turbocharger. Long lived and sweet revving it’s s good engine.

This is my second focus in 12 months, had the 1.0 ecoboost titanium before, and the MPG was woeful and performance really wasn't strong enough for the size of the car.

So recently bought a ford focus St-Line 1.5 ecoboost and the mpg it's giving me is around 20-25. I just want to know if this is normal or should I be expecting more. I've no friends who own one so I went to the friendly people of Reddit holding to shed some light on this for me. 8.
